Facebook's Policy on Political Advertising Blocks Ads for Non-Political Ads Containing Names of Presidents

As we have recently reported, in May of this year Facebook announced a new policy on political advertising on the platform. Since Facebook's institution of this new policy, Facebook has been removing ads that contain the names of former presidents, even if that ad had no political content.

For example, Facebook took down a Walmart ad for advertising Bush's baked beans on sale for the Fourth of July.  A vacation bible school in Clinton, Indiana and an insurance company from Clinton, Iowa had their advertisements pulled as well.

Facebook stated that "This is a new policy and process" and "review and enforcement won't be perfect."
