Yesterday, the Federal Trade Commission released the agency's Annual Highlights 2017 report, which summarizes its consumer protection and competition work over the last year.
The FTC said that its major enforcement efforts were in the following areas:
- Health care;
- Technology;
- Consumer products and services and manufactured goods;
- Stopping activities related to fraud;
- Energy;
- Getting money back for consumers; and
- International law enforcement.
Writing about its consumer protection efforts in the consumer products area, the FTC highlighted its actions involving "organic" claims and car advertising.
"This year, the FTC has pressed forward with aggressive agendas for enforcing the nation’s consumer protection and competition laws,” said Acting Chairman Maureen Ohlhausen
