At the International Council for Advertising Self-Regulation annual meeting, which is being held this week in Mumbai, ICAS announced the winners of the 2025 ICAS Awards. The awards are given every other year to recognize outstanding achievement by advertising self-regulatory organizations around the world.
The winners were:
- Excellence Award - Advertising Standards Council of India, for its work on dark patterns.
- Inspiration Award - Advertising Regulatory Board of South Africa, for its new online training course, and the Romanian Advertising Council, for its work on bringing influencer issues to the attention of the Romanian market.
- Innovation Award - Stichting Reclame Code in the Netherlands, for its new influencer website.
- Sustainability Award - Advertising Standards Authority in the UK, for its ongoing work on environmental marketing.
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award - Advertising Standards Council of India, for its extensive research and guidance on diversity-related issues in advertising.
I was honored to serve as the Chair of the Jury for the Awards, which included Elly L'Anson (UN Women), Steve Babaeko (X3M Ideas), Shibani Gharat (CNBC), Raelene Martin (ICC), Gabe Martinez (Clorox), and Charley Stoney (VoxComm).
CONAR in Brazil also received the 2025 ICAS Special Recognition Award, which is given by the ICAS Executive Committee, for its leadership in advancing responsible advertising in Latin America.
