What are "Ancient Grains"?

A lawsuit was recently filed alleging that Majans America misled consumers by marketing its snacks as "Ancient Grain Twists."  In Louis v. MJS America LLC d/b/a Majans America LLC, the plaintiff alleged that the product doesn't only contain grains that are commonly understood as "ancient," but also includes other ingredients as well, such as rice and peas.  According to the plaintiff's allegations, consumers seek out ancient grains because of their greater nutritional and health benefits.

According to the plaintiff, "no reasonable consumer would expect a product described and identified as Ancient Grain Twists to be made from non-ancient grains
