Instagram Allows Businesses to See and Share Stories that Mention Them

Instagram recently added a new feature that allows business or creator accounts to easily keep track of Instagram Stories that mention their profile, and to re-share such content in the business' or creator's own Stories stream.

This new capacity could be an important development for brands who are interested in re-using user-generated content on their own feeds, or who want to more easily keep track of promotions entries that mention the brand.

As always, even though this new functionality makes sharing technically possible, brands will still have to contend with rights-clearance issues presented by the re-purposing of user-generated content on their own feeds.

[T]he new option appears as an @ symbol in your Create mode options [and shows] how many Stories @mentions your profile has at any given time. When you tap...you're taken through to a display of thumbnails of Stories frames which mention your profile. You can then select any of the frames listed, and re-share them into your own Stories feed (until they expire).
