Barr's Apologizes for Offensive Commercial

Scottish soda maker Barr's has issued an apology after getting called out for launching an offensive commercial -- that appears to invoke the c-word -- on Scottish television.

In the commercial, a young man and woman are having an awkward conversation with her parents about when they will be getting married.  The young man says out loud to his girlfriend, "I don't like him.  Can we go?"  She responds, "We can't right now."  He then responds by telling her, "Don't be a can't."  The commercial ends, with cans of soda on screen, and the words, "Don't be a can't.  Be a can."

Although Barr's issued an apology, the company also said, "But we hope fans will enjoy this spin on positive thinking in the spirit it is intended."

It’s never our intention to offend so we’re sorry if our new advert hit the wrong note with a few people
