FTC Celebrates Pride; Highlights Risks to LGBTQ+ Community

The Federal Trade Commission plans to celebrate Pride Month by highlighting consumer protection issues that affect the LGBTQ+ community. Such issues include government impersonators, job scams, and cyberbullying. Daniel Kaufman, Acting Director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection, said, "We're proud of the work we're doing throughout the year to help protect the LGBTQ+ community from fraud -- especially our work to help the community learn how to spot, avoid, and report scams and bad business practices."

The FTC said it will also share resources to help inform the LGBTQ+ community regarding such issues. Be sure to check out these updates published by the FTC, available here
