Instagram announced today that users can now upload one hour long videos and, to compete with sites like YouTube, the platform created IGTV, a new app on which these videos can live (available on iOS and Android and also through a button inside the Instagram environment).
The ability to create long form Instagram content will undoubtedly change how advertisers and content t creators use the platform. We look forward to seeing how this develops!
IGTV will also let creators develop Instagram Channels full of their different videos that people can subscribe to. Creators will be able to put links in the description of their videos to drive traffic elsewhere.
